Terms of service
By using the Kard app and the related website (the "service"), you agree to the terms below. The service is operated by RocketCode, reachable at [email protected].
1. Service description
Kard is an iOS app that lets you build a personal identity card (tastes, anecdotes, experiences) and share filtered audience-specific views via an end-to-end encrypted web link.
2. Anonymous identity
The service requires neither account nor email. Your server-side identity is an anonymous identifier (UUID) generated locally by the app and stored in iOS Keychain. You are solely responsible for backing up this identity: losing it (uninstall without export, lost phone without iCloud) means losing access to your shared kards permanently.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the service to:
- publish unlawful, defamatory, hateful or rights-infringing content ;
- impersonate a third party ;
- attempt to bypass encryption, authentication or rate-limiting mechanisms ;
- use the service in an automated way at scale (scraping, spam) ;
- compromise the security or integrity of the service or its users.
We reserve the right to revoke a kard or handle that violates these terms, and to ban an anonymous UUID from the service.
4. Pricing
The app offers a free version (limits on categories, items and active kards) and a Premium plan at €19.99/year (or €2.49/month) that unlocks unlimited usage, additional themes and advanced sharing options (password, expiration, max views).
Purchases are handled by Apple via the App Store. No surprise auto-renewal: a subscription is clearly presented as such and can be cancelled at any time from your App Store Settings.
5. Intellectual property
You retain full ownership of the content you create in Kard. By sharing a kard, you grant us only the technical license needed to store the encrypted blob and serve it to the recipient — we cannot read its content and claim no rights over it.
The "Kard" name, logo and app are owned by RocketCode.
6. Availability and warranty
The service is provided "as is", with no guarantee of permanent availability. We make best efforts to provide a stable service, but accept no liability for outages, server data loss or bugs not arising from gross negligence on our part.
7. Limitation of liability
To the extent allowed by law, our liability is capped at the amount you paid for the service over the past 12 months. We are not liable for misuse by a third party of a kard you chose to share publicly.
8. Termination
You may stop using the service at any time, without notice, by uninstalling the app and deleting your server data from Settings. We may terminate access in case of breach of these terms, after notice that has remained unaddressed, except in case of imminent risk to the service or its users.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. Any dispute will be addressed amicably first. Failing that, French courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
